In a coastal community such as Vannøy, there is nothing more natural than to take a fishing trip on the inviting sea in the midnight sun during the summer, or under the dazzling northern light in the winter.

Many of our guests have caught giant halibut near Vannøya.
The record Halibut caught on a rod was taken by Thomas Nielsen, Denmark (pictured right).
It weighed in at 190 kg, a world record at the time. This has later been bested, again near Vannøya.

Vannøya not only offers great sea fishing, but also has several good trout lakes.
It is also possible to fish for Atlantic Salomon in the Skipsfjord river.
